Southern Gospel singer Chip Polk performs Friday, Saturday at Ragtown Gospel Theater

If you are a Gaither fan, you are going to love Ragtown Gospel Theater in Post. The year-round productions at the Branson-style theater all begin with an hour-long Southern Gospel concert. Audience members often declare that the music rivals anything the Gaithers present in their shows. The music they are talking about is, most often, piano player and singer Chip Polk, the featured performer in the Ragtown Gospel Shows.“That is such a great compliment,” Chip responds. “There’s not a bigger Gaither fan than me. Among my greatest joys is the opportunity to sing alongside many of those Gaither greats when they travel to Ragtown Gospel Theater to perform throughout the year.”The extraordinary atmosphere and the enthusiastic audiences national touring artists find at this state-of-the-art concert hall have made Ragtown Gospel Theater a favorite tour stop for most of the top names in gospel music.Glenn Polk, director and principal actor in Ragtown’s gospel dramas, says of his brother: “Chip can hold his own on the stage with anyone. We love having the Gaither performers and all the other national gospel groups here from time to time, but Chip’s show every weekend just knocks everyone out.”Chip has shared the stage with Gold City, Legacy 5, the Imperials, the Booth Brothers, the Hoppers, and Ivan Parker, among others. He has appeared several times on the Prime Time Christian Television Network and in 168 countries. Recently, Chip and Glenn Polk were interviewed on “Light of the Southwest.” During the program, Chip introduced a new song – “In Dependence” – which has already begun to receive national attention.
